Brian Andronaco Sr., age 58, was arrested on Sunday, Dec. 19, in Wilton.

He was charged with two counts of having a nuisance animal, roaming dog, and a failure to comply with a restraining order, said Lieutenant Gregg Phillipson, of the Wilton Police.

Phillipson said officers responded to 140 Kellogg drive around 2:30 p.m., for a report of a dog attacking a miniature horse.

When officers arrived, they found two dogs who had gotten loose and were involved in the attack, Phillipson added.

One of the dogs returned home, the other dog was caught by the owner of the horse, Phillipson said.

The horse received numerous lacerations and was taken to a veterinarian for care, police said.

Andraonaco, of Wilton, had a restraining order against him to make sure his dogs never got loose in the area again, Phillipson said.

He was released after posting 10 percent of his $5,000 bond.
